The chipmaker said Wednesday that its Core i5 and i7 chips will be ready for full-on desktops by the end of 2018.
The chipmaker announced a few weeks ago that it was launching a new series of “Broadwell” processors that will run Intel’s next generation Atom chips.
Intel will also launch new Core i3 and i5 chips later this year and launch its first “Skylake” chip in 2018.
The first chips are expected to be “full-fledged” desktop processors.
The company also revealed that it is expanding its desktop chips lineup to include the Intel Core M and the Intel Xeon E5 chips.
The company will launch a “Haswell” processor, which will be based on the Broadwell-EP chip.
